This weekend is sure to be an exciting one here at Colchester Federated Church!
On Saturday morning (9 AM at the Salmon River), this year’s Discipleship Class will be having their Baptisms & Baptismal Remembrances. As Nicole reminded the Discipleship Class and their families in an email this week, “The water is sure to be quite chilly! It’ll be our own sort of ‘polar plunge’!”
Immediately following the CFC Polar Plunge (I mean, River Baptisms/Remembrances), the Spring in Bloom Vendor Fair will be happening from 10 – 2 back at church. Spring in Bloom is truly a lovely fair with some unique vendors. You never know what you may find!
On Sunday, this year’s Discipleship Class & Mentors will be leading our Confirmation Sunday Worship Service. This will be a wonderful (and full) service! There will be Communion as May 5th also happens to be the first Sunday of the month. Our Discipleship Class will explain the symbols on their stoles they made while on retreat at Camp Wightman, to share some of their faith journeys. Most importantly, we will observe the Rite of Confirmation as these young people confirm their faiths and affirm their Baptisms. Confirmation Sunday is a chance for our whole congregation to celebrate and bless the youth of our church.

I am proud and honored to have walked with Kolby, Ben, Charlie, Karah, and Rae during this important time in their lives. Our congregation is blessed to have dedicated members who volunteer their time to mentor our youth. After all, it can take a church to help raise a child! Thank you, Steve and Ted! Our congregation is also blessed to have an amazing Christian Education Director in Nicole. Truly, Colchester Federated Church’s Discipleship program would not be all that it is without the dedication of our youth, class mentors, and church staff. It’s a beautiful tradition, and what a beautiful weekend this will be.
Love,
Pastor Lauren
